When and Where

Lessons are once a week for 30 minutes each and take place

at A Highlands House, which has breathtaking views to inspire creativity and the joy of learning how to make music.

What You Will Learn

Lesson plans start with an overview and introduction to drum technique with accelerating rhythm patterns once the hand techniques are mastered. Students will learn at their own pace the four basic hand techniques for playing congas, music notation, and various rhythm patterns for making percussive music.

 

What You Will Need

Students will be provided an instrument during their weelkly lesson, but should purchase an instrument of their choice for home practice. There are several local music stores in the Santa Rosa Beach area with percussion instruments for sale that I can recommend to you at our first lesson. Please also bring a notebook and pencil.
